Shasiko is a form of Japanese decorative reinforcement stitching. The word translates to “little stabs.” Wheel-thrown and Raku fired. A tape resist technique was used to create the shasiko pattern.

Clay with clear white crackle glaze and raw black clay.

7.75”H x 4.75”H x 4.75”D

Raku pieces are not food-safe or watertight. For display use only. If you’d like to use this vessel as a flower vase, I would recommend placing a small paper or plastic cup filled with water inside. Other options are using dried flowers or branches.
